Death BellSo I think most people chose it cause they think it's going to be a Death Note parody, which couldn't be further from the intent. Death Bell was an idea I had when I was in some crazed Creative Stupor. I came up with it quick as a sort of anime parody, taking alot of the cliches of most Shonen manga and trying to incorporate them into this silly little story. It started off with a boy waking up and discovering one of his arms is just bare bones, yet still functional. He has no memory of who he is or where he came from (yay cliches!) but all around him is death and destruction. Following him is a giant bell, designed to look like an oddly shaped human skull. Others can see it, and seem to know what it is, but only the boy can hear it talking to him. Whenever the boy strikes the bell with his skeleton fist, anybody who hears the sound dies instantly. So it was about him trying to find out who he was, why had this bell, and so on and so on. There was gonna be a lot of that PEACE IS THE ANWSER VIOLENCE IS BAD stuff on the heroes part, but of course it would always end with him striking the bell, and killing everyone. I started to dislike the idea, as I had made it too complicated (far more complicated then this brief sum up) and even though i was going to make fun of cliches, I'd still have to rely on them to tell the story. Overall I do still like the character though and would like to do something with it all. Oddly, the bell developed the strongest personality. It floats around talking to the main guy, usually berating him and egging him on. He was fun to write dialouge for in my head. But yeah, the idea would be different now. I think the main guy would take on more the role of The Wandering Mysteryman if I did something with it. Still interested?
